Working in conjunction with the larger internal diameter Crux tubing, the Camelbak Crux Reservoir On/Off Valve delivers 20% more water per sip than the previous generation hydration system. The On/Off Valve is aptly named because it can shut off or make accessible the fluids in your hydration reservoir. The valve fits snugly into the tube, then on the 45° end you mount your Big Bite Valve to complete the system. Camelback offers complete replacement systems, or as with this On/Off Valve, you can replace individual components as necessary. The tube, On/Off valve and Big Bite Valve are all sold individually.

Made from a combination of polypropylene and LDPE, the Crux On/Off Valve is durable and 100% BPA/BPS/BPF free. The single through-pivot design and easy to use lever were designed to be used primarily during transport, and the lever folds away from the bite valve with clean ergonomics. The shut off option is handy in emergencies as well, such as when you manage to lose the Big Bite, or if you want to quickly manage water flow to clean off an abrasion. Just remove the Big Bite with the lever in the off position, then you can control a stream of water directed towards the wound. The same principle applies if you need to make a quick repair on a muddy bike. Just keep in mind that you will go through water quickly in these scenarios, so control the flow.
