Like standard Campagnolo Record cranksets, engineers used in depth analysis developed new profiles for the ring teeth that are specific to the placement of the power stroke and changed the angles of the ring to reflect how the chain rides up or down during shifting. Sophisticated ramps, pins and specific machining of individual teeth help to move the chain up and down guarantee maximum efficiency during shifting developed by working closely with professional teams. The crank arms themselves are Ultra-Hollow carbon fiber constructions just like Chorus and SR. This hollow construction actually works to eliminate stress points while improving the weight to stiffness ratio.

Now what makes this Record level crankset different is the monster 30mm oversize one-piece axle. And while the diameter of the axle has grown, the weight has dropped approx 50 grams. This occurs due to the fact that the larger diameter axle has thinner walls. The net result is added strength with a lower weight. Added strength equates to a stiffer bottom bracket section for more watts to the pedals.
