The protection-series Castelli Gabba 3 Short Sleeve Jersey is a cool and sometimes inclement-specific version of the form-fitting Aero Race Jersey. Simply put: it's the most high-tech weather garment on the market, and it works like charm. In replacing the Gabba 2 SS, the Gabba 3 has an improved drop tail panel and also laser cut pocket holes for drainage.

The Gabba represents textbook product innovation. It began in 2009 when a focus group of Cervelo TestTeam riders worked with Castelli engineers to develop and improve their clothing for cold and wet conditions. During one of these sessions, TestTeam riders came up with the idea of a stretchy, form-fitting short sleeve rain jersey that could be paired with the water-resistant Nanoflex arm warmers to create an outfit that was perfectly geared to the foul weather of the Spring Classics replacing the usual billowy, power-robbing jacket. It was a great idea, but existing fabrics were either not stretchy enough or not breathable enough to meet the riders' needs. As a result, Castelli worked with Gore to develop a new 4-way stretch, waterproof fabric called Windstopper X-Lite Plus that became the foundation of the Gabba Jersey.

Lightweight and stretchy for a tight, aerodynamic fit, Windstopper X-Lite Plus fabric means the Gabba 3 SS Jersey can offer total wind and water protection to the core and shoulders. The addition of Nano Flex inserts under the arms allows for temperature regulation, while an extra-long storm flap off the back of the jersey protects you from spine-chilling wheel spray. The Gabba 3 includes a full-length YKK Vislon zipper with smaller teeth for a smooth, sheer profile, rear reflective tabs for overcast days. Three rear pockets with eyelets to allow for drainage.
