The Velo Jacket is the replacement for Castelli's venerable Leggero Jacket design which has been retired after several seasons of faithful service. It shares some similarities and some upgrades making it a great choice for a wind jacket that offers a bit of rain and wet weather protection.

The 12 individual panels that compose the Velo are all anatomically correct and constructed of Castelli's proprietary and bomber Forcefield fabric. This magical fabric is windproof, water resistant and breathable. Beyond that it's is so low volume it makes the Velo totally packable. Total jacket weight is around 100 grams. The sleeve ends and waist are double folded and double stitched so they are comfortable and will never fray. The full zipper operates smoothly for easy use on the bike. The top of the zipper has a flap that covers the zipper pull, so it will not rub and irritate the bottom of your chin. Medium height collar has internal mesh lining for added breathability and comfort.

The fitted and tailored style keeps flapping to a minimum which eliminates the biggest problem for a jacket in this category. The tail of the jacket is slightly lower to protect you from road spray. The lower rear elastic has small silicone inlay to keep the jacket in place and water and debris out.
