Description
Shimano's 12-speed Dura-Ace Di2 groupset pairs with the R5 frameset to create a top World Tour level complete bike. The shifter system is wireless, simplifying fully integrated cockpit routing. Shimano determined that a seatpost battery remains the best option for powering the front and rear derailleurs, so the rear is still wired. This Cervelo R5 Dura-Ace R9270 Di2 Bicycle offers the fastest, most precise, and reliable shifting system along with advanced hydraulic disc braking, ensuring ruthless efficiency on the road.
The Cervelo R5 has long been recognized as the all-around and mountain-oriented road race bike, complementing the company's more aerodynamic S5. Few bike concepts have been as well-received in World Tour racing and by serious cycling enthusiasts as the R5. Cervelo's engineers, using detailed topology studies, optimized the frameset's weight and ride quality without sacrificing stiffness or overall efficiency, making the R5 a favorite among riders.
The R5, seen at the front of prestigious races, is lighter, more compliant, and offers greater stability and aerodynamic efficiency. It also features impressive tire clearance while maintaining the same essential geometry and handling. With a 700-gram frameset in a 56cm size (15% lighter), this bike is ready to race and ride every day.
Cervelo outfitted the updated R5 with 34mm tire clearance and optimized the BBright bottom bracket shell for better performance without needing a dropped driveside chainstay. The bike also includes a lighter R5 Carbon disc brake fork and an updated headset for easier steerer tube adjustments.
The Dura-Ace Di2 build comes with the Reserve Carbon rim disc brake wheelset, featuring improved aerodynamics and handling characteristics. These rims, paired with the DT Swiss 240 CL disc hubset, perfectly complement this impeccable build.
