Description
Several Cervelo road disc brake bikes are now equipped with the RAT (Rapid Axle Technology) thru-axle system. The RAT system is a thru-axle that essentially slides into the dropout, passes through the hub like a normal thru axle, then twists into a slot structure on the receiving side. Preload tension is adjusted at the lever side, and the quick release style lever locks the RAT thru-axle into position. RAT enables thru-axle equipped wheel changes much quicker and highly secure, both essential for the embrace of road disc brake systems in pro cycling, where speed and rider safety are both required.
This RAT Through Axle Fork Insert features the keyed slot plate that gets installed into the exterior of the receiving side of your Cervelo road disc fork. A supplied, threadlocker prepped bolt fastens from the inner side of the fork leg, at a 3Nm max torque to secure the insert. We recommend you use a little grease, which is compatible with the threadlocking compound.
