Description
This in-house Excel Sports M10 Ultegra 11 speed complete bike has been featured in our showroom. Colnago bikes have been ridden by more pro teams over the last few decades than any other brand. The M10s has been the workhorse frameset of Colnago sponsored teams thanks to its superb stiffness to weight ratio and incredible, confidence-inspiring handling, quick acceleration, and compliant ride. This carbon frame from the master frame builder has a massive oversized/shaped downtube and bottom bracket area that is combined with a super-stout and tapered fork with an oversized headtube. These design elements make the M10 an absolute beast, but in a good way. There is an absolute economy of motion here, with zero slop or wasted movement from lack of frame flex. The front end of the M10s delivers the final word in solid steering input thanks in part to a tapered steerer. The thinner seat stays give the frame some needed vertical compliance which improves both comfort and handling when exiting corners. Simply put, the M10s is a pure Pro Tour frameset, and as with most such bikes, the excellence comes from the technical details.
On the inside of the frame resides a carbon fiber diamond matrix that lays on top of the inner diameter of the tubeset. This technology dissipates vibration and is one of the secrets to the M10's smooth ride quality. The oversized downtube and large mass bottom bracket area is mated to an oversized headtube section, which defeats torsional forces. This combination gives the bike incredible stability and ultra precise handling manners. The top tube and seat tube are shaped to optimize lateral rigidity. The wishbone seat stay is reminiscent of the C-50 series frames and offers a bit of compliance to smooth out the ride. One of the frame's best features is not visible to the eye. The cable routing for both brake and derailleur are both internal and the frame is future-proofed by virtue of slots and plugs that will accept electronic wiring and a threaded battery mount on the lower end of the downtube.
The finish is pure Colnago par excellence. The beautiful wet gloss finish is complemented with a simple team graphic that manages to blend old world style and contemporary lines. The frameset alone usually lists at the $4k mark, but we are offering this complete Ultegra build, including Ultegra wheels, well below that to the lucky buyer of this showroom model bike.

A word on sizing. Colnago describes the frame size as the actual seat tube length from the center of the bottom bracket to about the middle of the seat collar extension. Most manufacturers list virtual sizes on sloping top tube frames (the size to frame would feel like if the bike had a horizontal top tube). We strongly suggest sizing off the virtual top tube length and head tube length. This means you generally want to 3-4cm to Colnago's sloping size to compare with other frames. For example, a 52s Colnago will compare to a 55 or 56cm in other frames.
