Description

The Challenge Alamanzo clincher tire has a wide range of uses. Challenge officially lists it as a gravel racing/touring tire. We think it also could be perfect as a supple, fast cyclocross tire for dry conditions. The side of the tire lists a 100-130 psi range but you could run down to 55 psi. The Almanzo is simply perfect as a gravel road clincher for the road bike. Its coarse tread makes suitable for particularly loose sections.

In the past a wide, durable tire used to be synonymous with a stiff, dead ride. Challenge refers to the clincher Almanzo as an "Open Tubular". Yes this make it a little confusing, but what they really mean is the 260tpi handmade casing on this clincher is built to be supple - like a tubular. This gives the Erioca an ability to roll over gravel and small rocks for a smooth, comfortable and fast ride.
