Indoor track racers require perfection, speed, and just the right amount of grip. The Challenge Pista delivers all three, and is competitively lightweight at 195 grams as well. Building the perfect tire is the goal of every Challenge employee, and when a company hand applies natural rubber that it grows itself, you understand the care and dedication that goes into creating a Pista Tubular.

If a track tire is to be perfectly round and balanced, the casing is the key. A 320 tpi Corespun Cotton casing is crafted with the finest cotton fibers, which are then spun into a yarn that build the casing. This casing is incredibly supple yet capable of handling massive pressure- up to 220 psi. The casing carries a soft, elastic latex tube that minimizes resistance withing the tire, conforming with the casing in all ways. This combination is incredibly light, yet capable of not only withstanding the pressure, but while maintaining a perfectly round shape. On the boards of a wood track, the rider can feel the purity of the design and execution, and can apply all energy into the focus and effort required to ride at high speed.

The hand laid rubber tread is a natural rubber that has not been heat treated (vulcanized). This allows the rubber to be more uniformly supple and offers the same level of grip throughout. While at first glance, the Pista Tubular seems perfectly smooth, a very fine series of tread lines run across the surface, providing just enough variation to maximize grip and hold the Pista in place as the rider powers into the curves. Traveling at such high rates of speed, the rider must be able to trust the tire to hold even in the presence of light dust or random sweat drop. The Pista is trustworthy.

Our experience tells us the Pista Tubular is only suited for wood tracks. Concrete or paved surfaces will be too harsh on the tire for safety. The Pista Tubular is fast, true, and trustworthy, and if you race on the boards, you know exactly what that means- victory.
