Colnago's C60 and V1-R framesets employ Colnago's ThreadFit 82.5 bottom bracket system. The frame carries an oversized bottom bracket shell with a threaded interface. Each side then receives what Colnago calls threaded rings or shells, that are essentially precision machined adaptors, which once installed, accept PressFit 86 bottom bracket bearings. These shell adaptors feature a low-profile 16-notch external spline system for simplified installation. The extreme low profile keeps the interface at the proper width, but means that many installation tool options would easily scratch the frame. Hence the Colnago PressFit Bottom Bracket Tool.

This steel notch tool has been machined to perfectly match the threaded shells, and won't interact with the frame surface. A 3/8" ratchet interface makes installation to the required 25-30Nm simple and efficient. The back side of the tool also has a smaller 16-notch interface compatible with many external bottom bracket tools like the Park BBT-9 or 19 options.
