A handlebar doesn't feel light when mounted to a bike. But the net effect overall is that of reducing overall weight. Still, a sub 200 gram handlebar made from carbon does oddly feel light in the hand; responsive, and somehow luxurious. Perhaps that is the effect of ideally engineered and shaped carbon. The new Deda Elementi Superleggera Handlebar is made of a revolutionary type of carbon fiber that allows the engineers to shave off every excess gram of weight. The HR40 carbon fiber and a new Nanotechnology resin maximize the inherit material properties with a unidirectional layup that produces a highly compressed composite, reducing weight and ensuring the highest technical performance. This is a spectacular 40 Ton carbon bar with Deda's modern RHM compact shape, super stiffness with a feathery 180 gram weight in a 42cm (O-O).

The 75mm reach and radius curve creates an ideal level set-up for today's shift lever bodies, and the 130mm drop is ideally sized for most hands, and provides easy reach to the brake levers. RHM (Rapid Hand Movement) refers to how quickly and easily the cyclist can change hand positions without restriction. The outer curve off the central bar stock is sloped perfectly so you drop and raise your hands from lever to drop and back up. At the same time there is a reasonable shoulder at that point for a resting position with firm bike control.

This 31.75mm diameter handlebar is designed for, and intended to be used with, a Deda 31.7mm stem. Using a 31.8mm stem may result in bar damage or create an unsafe riding situation. We highly recommend the Superlegerra or Superleggera RS stem as the best complementary components for this handlebar.
