The Custom Race Bottle Cage from Elite has been well received for it's style and effective bottle control. The Custom Race Plus Bottle Cage steps it up a little with a sliding rubber center insert that allows you to customize bottle fit. Just as with the standard version, the two wings of the cage are not joined, except for by a central rubber insert. The Plus is simply an adjustable version. The design allows the wings to move a little as bottles are withdrawn and inserted, which takes stress off the Fiber Reinforced Polymide (FRP) structure. The elastomer rubber shim of the Plus is longer and has more bottle coverage in addition to offering the ability to slide it up and down to change the effective space for a bottle. If the standard version is a smart design, then the Plus version moves the needle closer to "genius".

FRP cages offer some of the distinct style that carbon fiber cages can, but with even more useful shapes, and at substantially lower cost, while offering much more resilience than standard plastic cages, which grow brittle and are prone to breakage.
