The Talas series forks from Fox have been a venerable favorite of thousands of trail riders since its inception. Why? Simple, easy to adjust manual controls to manipulate the technology that has evolved every season the Talas has been available. The current favored blend is the FIT system (a bladder inside the cartridge that keeps oil and air separate from each other, even as they interact), combined with the CTD (Climb, Trail, Descend) damper system. CTD is a factory pre-set range selection for compression damping for various requirements. While climbing, the setting is firmer, but still lightly active to maximize traction and forward momentum. The Trail setting opens things up significantly, again delivering the right balance of active traction, suspension travel and pedaling efficiency for speed and control in all trail conditions. For Descend, the emphasis changes to a more fully open setting, maximizing your bike’s travel capability for speed and control, with scant attention to pedaling efficiency.

The Talas 32mm stanchion 120 FIT CTD allows you to change the travel setting from 90mm to 120mm giving you an even greater flexibility of riding options with the CTD settings, as well as the traditional Talas seven setting manual adjustment. Your rebound is adjustable, and as an air sprung fork, you control the starting point, from sag on. The stanchions have the Kashima coating that greatly reduces resistance, but is also extremely durable. All in all, if you are shorter travel trail rider, or aggressive XC type, the Talas can handle all you can throw at it, and give you ultimate control over the conditions you encounter.
