Garmin's fenix series watches have been developed to bridge multi-sport, fitness, and outdoors together with incredible capabilities, features, and performance development tools. The fenix 6X GPS Solar offers all that, some surprises, and a watch face that charges the battery via solar power, extending the run times in various use modes. Physically, this version is the 51mm face size and 1.4" actual screen (280x280 pixels in color), with the titanium DLC bezel, and 26mm Quick Fit silicone band. The screen features Power Glass, a scratch resistant, solar watch lens to convert sunlight into battery power. A new Power Manager tool offers various settings to manage battery use. Some of these features include battery saver and power mode. Battery saver controls your everyday settings so you can adjust features such as backlight, smartphone connection or optical heart rate that are on or off.
The fenix 6X Pro Solar creates opportunities push new limits and explore new challenges — while adding mapping, music, intelligent pace planning and more to your workouts. Battery life is driven by usage requirements, while solar charging is contingent on the power of the sun. The general tested use cases with solar charging demonstrate the following battery capabilities: Smartwatch: Up to 21 days +3 days, GPS: Up to 60 hours +6 hours, GPS and music: Up to 15 hours +1 hour, Max battery GPS mode: 120 hours + 28 hours, Expedition GPS activity: 46 days + 10 days, Battery saver watch mode: 80 days + 40 days. A Solar Intensity profile screen can give you tracked and current lux ratings. The above times assume use in 50,000 lux conditions.
