Description
The Garmin Vector 2S is an affordable single-sensing system measures forces on the left pedal to approximate total power. If you decide to upgrade to the dual-sensing Vector system later to achieve direct left/right accuracy, left/right balance data and other data features, you can simply purchase the upgrade pedal separately. The Vector S system includes left pedal with embedded power meter, a right pedal without sensor, pedal pod and related hardware.
The Vector 2S installs in minutes. In fact, the only difference between the Vector S and Vector 2 S is a simplified pedal pod that is much easier to install. There's no need for a mechanic, or no downtime while your bike is in the shop. There are no complex drivetrain or wheel tradeoffs, or no external sensors to install. Plus unlike its predecessor, there are no tricky washers to worry about. That means you can even swap it between bikes quickly if you desire.
The Garmin Vector 2S Powermeter measures power at the pedal where it matters. It sees the whole force of the pedal stroke and delivers reliable, accurate power data via wirelessly via ANT+. The Vector calculates power and cadence.
At the heart of the Vector are silicon strain gauges mounted in glass which maintain their calibration better than foil strain gauges used on most of today's other powermeters. These gauges are located on the spindle which rotates on one bushing and one cartridge bearing. The carbon fiber pedal body is made by Garmin and compatible with Look Keo cleats. The included pedal pod sits next to the crank arm and is held in place when the pedal is attached to the crank. The pod contains a replaceable 2032 battery, microprocessor, accelerometer and an ATN+ radio transmitter.
The Vector is compatible with all ANT+ head units. One detail is only head units that have been updated to understand ANT+ left/right power will show left/right power. Garmin's Edge 500, 510 ,800, 810, 1000, Forerunner 310XT, 910XT, 920XT support left/right power, but the Edge 705 does not.
Included in the box: Vector pedals, one Pedal pod (standard or large, depending on the version selected), cleats and hardware, USB ANT+ Stick and manuals. A Pedal Crowsfoot adapter for a torque wrench is not included on the "S" (single pod version). We offer the Park Tool TWB-15 Pedal Crowsfoot for sale separately if desired.
Select standard or large pod. The standard pedal pods fit crank arms 12-15 mm thick and 38 mm wide. The large pedal pods fit crank arms 15-18 mm thick and up to 44 mm wide.
