Description

Special purchase of these 2016 Atmos II helmets has led to a large price reduction. The Atmos II has been discontinued, which has left us all a little confused seeing how season after season, this top-seller performed well in both the field and on the sales floor. None the less, now is the time to take advantage of what we would consider the best helmet deal we've ever offered.

The Atmos design has been a mainstay of the Giro helmet line-up for several years and with good reason. Road, cyclocross, and XC riders have all appreciated the large open-vented shell structure and aggressive styling. The Atmos II shares the pedigree, but Giro worked to make it stronger and lighter without compromising safety or driving the price through the roof. The same In-Mold shell and EPS Liner construction process is used, and the Roll Cage internal matrix spans the design, but a new Thermoformed SL polycarbonate material replaces the original version, dropping grams and exceeding the original’s strength and resilience under crash circumstances by holding the structure together, even after the EPS foam has diffused the initial impact energy, protecting the rider in case of multiple impacts or sliding.

The Atmos II still features the popular design style of the original, as well as the 26 Wind Tunnel™ vents that allow massive airflow and create the signature look. The In-Mold construction features the EPS liner that absorbs shock and dissipates the energy through the helmet structure and away from the skull. For retention and fit, the simple and easy to operate-while-riding Roc-Loc 5 handles the job with its micro-adjusting dial. The whole fit assembly can be vertically adjusted 15mm via a shell mounted tab. This allows the rider to accommodate the depth and shape of the skull for an optimum fit and proper angle. All in all the Atmos II carries forward all of the same features you have come to love, but is stronger and lighter, with it's exceptional ventilation and protection.

This may be your last chance to buy the Atmos II, and at great savings. Giro has phased it out of production, despite the fact that years after it's first release, the helmet is incredibly popular and has been a best seller for both Giro and Excel Sports. Grab one, or several now, and set them in a dark closet for when you need to replace your current Atmos.
