The durable and stout Ardennes Plus LT Disc clincher wheelset provides an impressively low 1560 gram weight, with Ardennes Plus rims that are tubeless or inner tube compatible. The Hed 545 hubset carries the quick, efficient Center Lock disc rotor interface. The Ardennes Plus features a 25mm external width (21mm internal) rim that extends the stiffness and aerodynamic benefits of the 23mm wide C2 technology. The main benefits of the Plus rim are better stability, increased cornering grip, improved comfort, and imore aerodynamic shape that leads to more rolling speed. With the wider rim design the tire casing is allowed to spread out and make a larger contact patch with the ground. This improves cornering grip and overall handling, along with straight line stability. The wider rim also increases the amount of air volume which in turn allows the tire to be run at lower pressure. This lower pressure means that the bumps will be smoothed out in the road, which improves comfort but also reduces rolling resistance because a tire that stays in contact with the road is faster than a firmer tire that reacts and bounces slightly to less than perfect surfaces. Unlike with narrow rims, the wide platform supports the tire sidewall so that you can corner with more confidence, as there is no tire flop. Drivetrain lateral stiffness and efficiency are improved in the Plus wheels due to the increased width, and is augmented in thru-axle hub systems.

The 25 mm wide platform provides a more stable platform for tires of any size from 22mm on up through 38-40mm. This versatility in tire size and the ability to run lower pressures makes it a great choice for cobbles, gravel, and dirt, while a larger contact patch increases rolling speed across every surface, and silky smooth on the pavement.

Another advantage over the 23mm wide C2 rim is that the Plus rim is tubeless ready. It can be run with standard clincher tires and tubes as well as with a tubeless tire and sealant. A very tight bead (shelf design) seat helps reduce the amount of sealant needed, helping keep the total wheel weight low. Other features include reflective decals for more visibility in low light and a 2X spoke pattern rear wheel for efficient power transfer to the rear wheel. Black Hed hubs and black lightweight bladed spokes round out the package.

Other details include 24 front and 24 rear black bladed j-bend spokes laced 2x all around to the black Hed 545 hubset. Front wheel is a 12mm thru-axle. The rear wheel has a 12x142mm thru-axle. Compatible with Center Lock rotors sold separately or 6-bolt with a Center Lock to 6-bolt adapter sold separately. Center Lock compatibility means use can use Shimano's Freeza rotors for the best in heat dissipating braking technology. Shimano HG11 freehub is compatible with Shimano/SRAM cassettes up to 11-speed. The system does offer interchangeable options for Campanolo or SRAM XDR.
