The 127tpi casing is the perfect structure for the Fusion 5 series. The casing offers a consistently round shape, with more than enough suppleness under pressure, yet enough strength to feel substantial. The rubber system overall is the dynamic ElevenSTORM® compound and Hutchinson considers this compound to be the pinnacle of development for their tires, offering their best combination in the 5 performance highlights of a tire for that specific tire's purpose; weighing different levels of: Grip, Efficiency, Durability, Puncture resistance and Comfort. In the case of the Fusion 5 Performance Tubeless Ready Tire, the rubber carries the day, gets more assistance in the tread rubber than the Galactik for longevity, and puncture protection is augmented by the Kevlar Pro Tech protection belt. The butyl sealing liner is joined by the flexible reinforced breaker belt for additional flat protection under the center tread. The Performance tread design is advanced with a similar tread pattern as the Galactik, but more closely spaced, with directional voids that truly improve cornering grip and wet weather performance, but is designed for great all-around racing activity.

The Fusion 5 Performance Tubeless Tire is the best balanced of the Fusion 5 for overall durability and protection with great feel, grip, and low rolling resistance. The use of Hutchinson's Protect Air Max Sealant can quickly fill small punctures and help provide a premier seal at the bead. At just 250 grams in a 700x25, this tire truly hits the ultimate racer's balance of grip, durability, protection, weight and performance. When you factor in the average road tube at just over 100 grams, this is the equivalent of about a 190 gram clincher tire with tube or tubular, when you use sealant.

Road Tubeless tires should be used with Road Tubeless rims for optimal safety and performance. As with all products, Road Tubeless tires have greatly improved in the technology's life span. If you race in ideal conditions and want the fastest version, we may recommend the Galactik, as it has the same rubber compound, casing and overall feel, but is lighter, a touch faster and more efficient and a shade lighter. For true training, check out the All Season version, which again shares the important rubber and casing attributes, but adds more tread grip and overall durability. As these tires share so many crucial components and the ElevenSTORM compound, you can move comfortably among them based on conditions or every day need with very little adjustment in rider trust or adjustment.
