The Keo 2 Max Carbon represents the final and ultimate iteration of the original Keo pedal design that used a spring retention system. The pedal body is constructed of carbon fiber, which exceeds the limits of alloy or composites in areas of both strength and mass. This means carbon is stronger and requires less material, which reduces the pedal profile and consequent weight. The Keo 2 Max's carbon body is fitted with a bonded stainless plate, which provides durability and smooth action during cleat rotation. The carbon pedal body spins on a precisely machined cromoly axle. The axle is fitted with needle bearings and conical spacers that are fully serviceable. The combination of pedal body and spindle is low weight and low stack, for a natural pedal stroke. Tension adjustment for entry and release is easily set by the twist of a 3mm hex key located on the top of the rear pedal latch.
