Other details include H2, a hammer hardening process at the areas around the spoke holes for extra strength and a self-locking spoke and nipple design that serves to maintain tension and true even with daily use. For the profile, we find a familiar Mavic shape with a 21mm depth a wider 22mm external width. The modern width helps to make the rim stronger, stiffer, and better served to carry the wider tires favored today. Wider rim and tires increase base aerodynamics, offers a smoother ride quality, and provides sure footing and handling.
