For the Mavic Instant Drive 360 rear hub engagement system, the French wheel giant has opted for a proprietary, durable, waterproof grease. This product is used in small amounts when replacing or reinstalling the main hub seal, as well as on the dual ratchet system.

Mavic is offering this 5 count of 1.5g packets for convenience. It is recommended that you use fresh grease each time, so one service uses what is needed from one packet. We aren't sure if the grease hardens or loses some properties when exposed to air for extended time frames, but in a practice run we used just under one packet for an ID 360 hub rebuild.
