The superlight carbon rims are made with layers of 3K carbon fiber, and without the requirement of a brake track, strength and aerodynamics were the driving factors in construction. A 17mm internal width optimally carries clincher tires from 25-32mm wide, meaning depending on your frame and fork clearance, you can find supple, capable tire, even for gravel racing. Not recommended for cyclocross, the rims can still handle riders up to 265lbs with ease, and have a max pressure rating of 110psi.

Mavic has opted for 24 forgiving, yet high tension, steel straight pull, bladed, double butted spokes, laced 2x in front, Isopulse 2x non-drive and radial drive side in the rear. The ride is predictably solid in corners or under acceleration load, but much more comfortable than the Zicral spokes used on many Ksyrium SL wheels. Alloy ABS nipples protect the rim structure and save rotational weight, while the hub end terminate in the hub flanges. The machined Mavic alloy disc hubs come in both 6-bolt and Center Lock disc rotor interfaces, and use a massive overiszed axle to accommodate thru-axle and QR options (with appropriate end caps). The out-of-the-box set-up are 12/100mm front and 12/142mm rear thru-axle standards. Both hubs employ the micro-adjustable QRM+ steel sealed cartridge bearings.

The top performing Instant Drive 360 freehub body system delivers incredible acceleration and performance. The ID 360 is lightweight, features lower internal friction from in improved seal system, and features two opposing 40T ratchets that deliver 9° engagement that is incredibly fast, reliable and fairly quiet. Although the system is tool free, you also will rarely need to service it, but perhaps you will change drivetrains someday, so know that Shimano/SRAM 11, Campagnolo, and SRAM XD-R freehub options are available.

Mavic supplies their front and rear specific 700x25 127 TPI Yksion Pro GripLink and PowerLink tires and tubes with the wheelset. Both tires have construction and rubber that favor the purpose of each tire. The front GripLink has a softer compound for greater cornering grip and feel. The protection belt is Kevlar and limited to the center to keep the tire supple. The rear PowerLink carries more weight so the rubber is firmer for durability and powerful acceleration, while carrying a wider, stiffer, and more capable Nylon protection belt.
