The Ksyrium Pro Carbon SL UST Disc Brake wheel system represents all-around road performance at a pure climbing wheel weight. At just 810 grams for this rear wheel, with a superlight carbon 32mm deep disc-specific rim, this wheelset accelerates like a rocket, ride with impressive smoothness, and is always under your control, making it an ideal crit racing set-up, or daily-rider for serious enthusiasts.

The superlight carbon rims are made with layers of 3K carbon fiber, and without the requirement of a brake track, strength and aerodynamics were the driving factors in construction. A 21mm internal width optimally carries clincher tires from 25-32mm wide, meaning depending on your frame and fork clearance, you can find supple, capable tire, even for endurance riding. Not recommended for cyclocross, the rims can still handle riders up to 265lbs with ease, while offering pure UST tubeless ready capability.

Mavic has opted for 24 forgiving, yet high tension, steel straight pull, oval bladed, double butted spokes, laced Isopulse (2x non-drive and radial drive side). The ride is predictably solid in corners or under acceleration load, but much more comfortable than the Zicral spokes used on many Ksyrium SL wheels. Alloy ABS nipples protect the rim structure and save rotational weight, while the hub end terminate in the hub flanges. The machined Mavic alloy disc hub has the Center Lock disc rotor interface, and uses a massive oversized axle to accommodate thru-axle and QR options (with appropriate end caps). The out-of-the-box set-up for the rear wheel is the 12/142mm rear thru-axle standard. The hub employs the micro-adjustable QRM+ steel sealed cartridge bearings.

The top performing Instant Drive 360 freehub body system delivers incredible acceleration and performance. The ID 360 is lightweight, features lower internal friction from in improved seal system, and features two opposing 40T ratchets that deliver 9° engagement that is incredibly fast, reliable and fairly quiet. Although the system is tool free, you also will rarely need to service it, but perhaps you will change drivetrains someday, so know that Shimano/SRAM 11, Campagnolo, and SRAM XD-R freehub options are available. The Rear wheel-tire system comes with a 700x25 Yksion Pro UST tire that provides a simple, hassle-free tubeless road setup with high rolling efficiency and maximum grip in all weather.
