Description

The best carbon seatposts deliver ride comfort and vibration damping at a light weight. The fiber lay-up and carbon type determine stiffness and how well the post can attenuate vibration. These challenges are at odds with each other. Niner has taken novel approach to the problem, and it's RDO Carbon Seatpost is nearly twice as flexible as the leading competitor (based on weight and price). That is an extraordinary result, yet the RDO carbon post is also exceptionally strong and resilient. Niner calls this the Unstiff Carbon Layup, and the post meets all safety regulations.

The monocoque design weighs in at 220 grams for the 31.6 x 400mm version- which is as light as any carbon mountain post. In addition to the flex, the internal structure of the post is meant to disperse energy throughout the entire length, to mute vibration and trail chatter. The fore-aft flex is most noticeable on hardtail bikes, but fully suspended riders will also benefit from the extra give. For every hour you are on the bike the stresses on your body increase as you fatigue. A post that actually reduces the impact of that stress can be huge benefit on the final climb or sprint to the finish. You will be surprised, the RDO Carbon Seatpost doesn't lack for power transfer, and after a slight adjustment time, you truly won't notice as this engineering marvel does it's job.
