Description
Torque specifications exist for a reason, and that reason is usually carbon fiber. Modern bikes use materials and fasteners that don't forgive over-tightening, and the margin between "properly secured" and "cracked steerer tube" can be surprisingly narrow. The Park Tool ATD-1.2 Adjustable Torque Driver handles the low-torque fasteners found throughout modern cockpits, giving you accurate readings from 4 to 6 Newton meters in 0.5 Nm increments.
The adjustable design covers the range where most stem faceplate bolts, handlebar clamp bolts, and seatpost binder bolts live. Rather than buying separate fixed-torque drivers for each specification, the ATD-1.2 lets you dial in the exact setting with a simple twist of the handle. The cam-over mechanism provides tactile and audible feedback when you reach the target torque, preventing the natural tendency to keep turning after the fastener is properly set.
Park Tool includes the three hex bit sizes you'll encounter most frequently on modern bikes: 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm. The bits store inside the handle when not in use, so they're always with the tool rather than scattered across your workbench. A T25 Torx bit rounds out the set for SRAM-equipped bikes and various accessory mounts that have moved to that fastener style.... Read More
