The Park Tool BBT-49.3 Bottom Bracket Tool is a precision CNC-machined aluminum tool expertly designed for the installation and removal of specific threaded bottom brackets. Compatible with 16-notch tool fittings, this tool is perfect for working with high-end components such as Shimano® XTR® BB93, Dura-Ace® BB9000, and Token® bottom brackets, among others. It is also suitable for adjusting chainring lockrings on Shimano® STEPS square spindle e-bike systems like the E6000, E6002, and E6050.
Manufactured directly by Park Tool, the BBT-49.3 is anodized for easy identification and durability, and features a 3/8" drive compatible with both ratchet and torque wrenches. This design enhances its usability in professional and home workshops alike. Additionally, this tool integrates seamlessly with the Park Tool BBT-RS Bottom Bracket Tool Retaining System. Although sold separately, the BBT-RS provides an adjustable spring-based tension system that applies consistent pressure to ensure full engagement with the tool fitting, preventing slippage and enhancing the safety and efficiency of your maintenance work.
Specifically, the BBT-49.3 fits 16-notch threaded bottom bracket tool fittings with a major diameter (outside of notches) of 39-40 mm and a minor diameter (inside of notches) of 37.6 mm. It is intended for manual use and should not be used with impact drivers or other power tools. This tool is a direct replacement for the Shimano TL-FC38 tool, making it a valuable addition to any cyclist's toolkit.
