Description
The Park Tool SDFlat-Head Screwdrivers feel like tools one shouldn't need for bike work at this point. Why? Haven't small Torx and Phillips fasteners seem to have taken over. However there are still many jobs for which a 3mm or simple slotted screw is the best fastener for the job, and as a result, every mechanic has or needs Flat Blade Screwdrivers. Park Tool has developed their own screwdrivers to meet the needs of bike mechanics. Care has been taken during design to meet the tool and ergonomic needs of mechanics who use tools all day long. The hex-shaped, dual density rubber/composite grip feels great in, and on, the hand. With the SD-3 and SD-6, when dexterity and control matter more than torque, you will truly appreciate the handle design
Accurate machining coupled with a hardened finish means you will not strip out or peen adjustment screws. Given the size variations and mixture of steel, aluminum, and titanium hardware being used, and at times, not so obviously, you need proper tool fitment to get the job done right. Many derailleur limit screws are tricky to access and don't require much torque, just a clean, effective tool interface. There are also many composite and plastic computer hatches and battery covers for which a small flat head can not only safely remove a bolt, but also ease the piece free, without leverage, and done properly, there are no tool marks. Chalk up the Park SD series as screwdrivers you wish you didn't need, but tools you are always grateful to have on hand.
