Merino socks are even more popular than tall socks these days. Cyclists love the versatility and inherent qualities of Merino wool for four season use. With their new Merino option, Pearl Izumi has created a fabric blend, featuring Repreve® Recycled Polyester, which is created from recycled plastic water bottles. Pearl is proud to offer these American-made socks, which use responsibly sourced Merino and the recycled polyester for a minimal ecological imprint. They are almost equally proud that the Merino Tall Socks are as warm as they are dry. The polyester enhances and cooperates with the natural properties of the wool, improving moisture transfer.

As with all Pearl Izumi socks, the construction methods established the performance and comfort advantages. The seamless toe means they’ll be as comfortable in loafers as in cycling shoes, while an anatomic arch compression offers a performance fit, support and comfort. To release excess heat and reduce moisture build up in the shoe, mesh ventilation is used on top of the foot. Bottom cushion is a mid-weight, which is ideal for all types of cycling, reducing some sock and vibration. The tall cuff is 19cm (8.3") high, and has a modestly compressive fit for support and comfort. A minimal folded top hem is subtle and highly effective at keeping the sock up. Finally the colorways and diamond scheme are attractive and subtle, offering a great look on or off the bike.
