The ends are aluminum, the skewer axle is plated steel, and the cam action moves on a quality, long wearing polymer concave washer with a textured aluminum dropout face. Two stainless steel springs help keep the skewers spaced when in the open position for easier dropout removal/access.

The Quick Release Road Set comes for road standard 100mm front spacing, and 130mm rear dropouts with rim brake wheels and are not intended for disc brake use.
