Description
Wide handlebars generate leverage for technical terrain, but width alone doesn't account for how your wrists, shoulders, and spine align when you're standing over rough sections or seated on long climbs. The Ritchey WCS Trail Rizer addresses hand position through 15mm of rise built into the bar's sweep, lifting your grip point without requiring a taller stem stack or riser spacers. This subtle elevation change lets riders maintain a more neutral wrist angle while keeping the cockpit compact—particularly useful on shorter-travel trail bikes where aggressive stem height would compromise handling balance.
The bar uses Ritchey's WCS-grade 7050 aluminum, a heat-treated alloy that hits a specific balance between stiffness and weight that matters when you're loading the front end through corners or absorbing chatter on descents. At 780mm width, it accommodates most trail riding preferences while remaining easy to trim if your shoulder width or bike geometry calls for something narrower. The 9-degree backsweep and 6-degree upsweep follow Ritchey's trail ergonomics, positioning your hands where they naturally want to land rather than forcing adaptation to the bar shape.
A 31.8mm clamp diameter means compatibility with the vast majority of modern trail stems, and the 15mm rise happens outboard of the clamp area so your stem choice isn't constrained. The matte BB Black finish hides cable rub and minor trail contact better than gloss alternatives, which matters on a bar that's likely to see legitimate use rather than garage display.... Read More
