Absolute dry is intended for road bike use in good conditions and will keep your chain very clean. Rock "N" Roll chain lubes are the lubes everybody is after thanks to top drivetrain efficiency rating in a recent cycling publication. In case you didn't read the article, about 30 of the most popular lubes were tested for drive train efficiency in a laboratory setting. Rock "N" Roll Gold was the clear winner - Absolute Dry was a close second. Friction losses were about 1 watt more efficient than most lubes at a 250 watt load.

The Secret to Rock "N" Roll Absolute Dry is large amounts of PTFE in a carrier. Because it is a dry lube, it is very light and formulated to clean and lube at the same time when applied. The formulation goes deep down into the chain and traps any dirt. Then, with the energy of the chain freewheeling backwards, the dirt and grit floats to the surface so you can wipe it all off, leaving a new and clean application of lube inside the chain, where it's needed. The lube gets down inside the chain to create a protective membrane to seal out dirt and moisture from the moving parts of the chain and stays in place for longer chain life and super smooth shifting.

To apply, put a nice flow of lube go onto the chain because you're going to clean and lube the chain in one step. Freewheel the chain backwards, and wipe off all of the dirt and grit that comes up to the surface of the chain. Keep in mind, you can't wipe off the chain too much. For best results, allow your chain to sit a few hours or lube the night before. Giving the lube a chance to set gives the lube a bit more life by allowing the protective membrane to fully set-up.
