Built on the exact same rims as the Rapide CLX II to elevate all this performance with tubeless done right technology, the Rapide CL II makes that performance easier for you to catch at check-out, and you almost impossible to catch on the open road. Featuring the 51mm CLX II rim profile, and an external width 35mm front rim, the Rapide CL II Front Wheel reduces drag and increases stability while rolling and cornering overall. But the 51mm profile and optimized shaping also increases stability in wind gusts by 25% over the previous generation CLX50, which was a highly regarded, very effective pro-level rim design. Stability Equals Speed in real world usage, as wind tunnel and real world testing has shown deep-section front rims are affected adversely by crosswinds. This negatively impacts handling, in turn causing a rider to slow down. By utilizing the first modeling algorithm designed around riders’ real-world reaction times Roval developed the CLX II rim deployed here for incredible performance that is complemented by the different dimensions and design of the rear wheel model.

The Rapide CL II is hand built every step of the way, from initial lay-up to the final tensioning on the spoke nipples. Built on a front DT Swiss 350 Center Lock Disc 12/100mm thru-axle hub with 18 Competition Race straightpull spokes, the result is an smooth rolling and efficient wheel designed as a complete system that weighs just 725 grams for the front (1590 grams as a set when paired with the rear), delivering incredible reliability and durability, with World Tour ready performance. Efficiency also comes with proper tubeless tire usage. The reduced rolling resistance of a tubeless setup is undeniable, as are the benefits of improved handling and incredible puncture protection. The development of the Rapide CL II involved the most rigorous and extensive engineering and testing program that Roval has ever undertaken and resulted in a wheelset that almost doubles current industry impact standards while managing to achieve the lightest weight possible. As a result the Rapide CL II Front Wheel also utilizes a hooked rim (allowing for real-world riding pressures up to 110psi, should you prefer) for secure tire bead retention and an easier set up and mounting experience than ever before.
