Description
Updating firmware on 12-speed Di2 wireless shifters requires a wired connection to the battery, which creates an awkward situation since the shifters normally communicate wirelessly. The EW-JC302 solves this by letting you temporarily bridge the gap. Disconnect the SD300 wire from your front derailleur, plug it into one side of this junction, then run a second SD300 wire from the other side to your shifter's charging port. Now the shifter has a physical path to the battery for firmware updates through E-Tube Project. Once the update finishes, you disconnect the junction and reconnect everything normally.
Beyond the firmware update workaround, the EW-JC302 serves as a simple inline connector for extending SD300 wire runs. Shimano's longest standard wire is 1600mm, which handles most frame sizes, but extra-large frames or unconventional battery placements sometimes need more length. Connecting two wires through this junction gives you effectively double the reach without any signal or power degradation. The junction doesn't contain any active electronics or firmware—it's purely a passive bridge that maintains the proper electrical connection between two SD300 plugs.
The compact inline design fits easily inside frames or handlebars where space is limited. Each end accepts a standard SD300 plug using the same push-fit connection found on all 12-speed Di2 components. The junction works with the full range of SD300-compatible systems including Dura-Ace R9200, Ultegra R8100, 105 R7100, and Shimano's EP8 e-bike platform. If you're running a mixed setup with 11-speed aerobar shifters connected to 12-speed derailleurs, you'd use the EW-AD305 adapter instead, which bridges SD300 and SD50 wire formats.... Read More
