EW-JC302 Di2 SD300 2-Port Junction Box
Description
Updating firmware on 12-speed Di2 wireless shifters requires a temporary wired connection between the shifter and the battery, and that's the situation the EW-JC302 was really built to solve. Shimano's 2-port inline junction connects two EW-SD300 e-tube wires end-to-end, giving you a physical bridge between components that normally communicate over the air. Pop one SD300 wire out of the front derailleur, plug it into one side of the JC302, then run a second SD300 from the other side up to the shifter's charging port—now E-Tube Project can talk to the shifter and push the update.
Outside of firmware work, the JC302 functions as a simple wire extender. Shimano's longest standard SD300 wire is 1600mm, which covers most builds, but XL frames, unconventional battery locations, or tandem setups occasionally need more length than a single wire can deliver. Splicing two wires together with a JC302 gets you there without giving up signal integrity or requiring any custom work. The junction is a passive connector—no firmware, no logic, no battery draw—which means it can live inside the frame indefinitely without anything to service or update.
Compatibility is limited to the SD300 wire format used across current 12-speed Di2 groups: Dura-Ace R9200, Ultegra R8100, 105 R7100, and Shimano's EP8 e-bike platform. It will not accept older SD50 wires from 11-speed Di2 systems. If you're mixing an 11-speed component like a bar-end shifter into a 12-speed drivetrain, the EW-AD305 adapter is the part you need instead, since it actually converts between the two wire formats. The JC302 only joins SD300 to SD300.... Read More
