It is rare that Sidi makes changes just to make changes, and the new Ergo 4 Road Shoe is no different. Upgrades to the sole, vent, and buckle system demonstrate the commitment to real changes when other companies prefer to gloss over an existing shoe with a cosmetic update.

The heart of the shoe is the sole, and with the Ergo 4, Sidi chooses its 12 Carbon Composite construction. What is unique here is the fact that the shoe engineers designed a small degree of toe flex in the ultra-stiff carbon plate to relieve stress on the plantar tendon, despite the fact that this is Sidi's stiffest sole overall. The carbon sole insert sits into a full composite sole, has a 3-hole Delta-syle drilling pattern with a printed 10mm cleat adjustment scale with a Look memory eyelet for Look cleats with the Memory system. A fixed toe-tap prevents slipping on pavement when walking or toeing down when stopping.

A breathable, supple, durable Tech Pro Nylon Mesh microfiber upper. It is breathable and regulates temperature and thanks to its surface finish it is dirt-repellent The Vernice (ver-nee-chay) gloss finish gives the Ergo 4 a unique look befitting its top-end status, while the mesh vents move air into and over the foot to keep you cool and comfortable on the hottest days.

The retention system has been updated with upper and central Tecno 3 buckles. The front strap employs the standard Sidi high security Velcro so it won't slip. The Soft InStep 3 closure system and padded tongue eliminate pressure points and circulation issues. Overall the fit is highly adjustable and impeccably secure. The adjustable Heel Retention Device allows for optimal heel fit and no-slip control of the notable Sidi Heel Cup for any rider's Achilles width and shape. Of course the heel tap pad is also replaceable, along with the Tecno 3 Buckles and Soft InStep 3 pad and strap. This is Sidi, after all.
