Not every minimalist trail glove can claim some real protection. Specialized's Trail D3O Gloves can, as they feature added D3O knuckle protection for pesky trail obstacles, low hanging branches, etc. BY adding the D3O foam protection the gloves are still supple, with no need for the common hardshell knuckle protection options some gloves feature. By mating that system with silicone-printed fingers for grip and brake lever control, a full AX Suede palm for durability and bar feel, as well as added ventilation for hot spots- and you’re left with a protective trail glove that gives nothing up to control or breathability a very reasonable weight.
