Description
Disc brake rotors take constant abuse—heat cycles from hard braking, contamination from road spray, the occasional curb contact when you're locking up in a parking lot. The SRAM CenterLine rotor uses a steel braking surface bonded to a stamped alloy carrier, which handles this punishment while shedding weight compared to solid steel designs. The two-piece construction also helps manage heat by allowing the steel braking track and aluminum spider to expand at different rates without warping.
The rounded edge profile on the CenterLine serves a practical purpose beyond aesthetics. Traditional rotors with sharp edges can catch on pads during wheel installation or slice fingers during maintenance. SRAM radiused the outer edge to reduce these annoyances without affecting braking performance. The rotor runs compatible with all SRAM and Avid disc brake calipers using organic or sintered metallic pads.
CenterLine rotors mount using the 6-bolt international standard with steel bolts included in the box. If you're running Center Lock hubs, you'll need a 6-bolt to Center Lock adapter—SRAM doesn't offer this rotor in a Center Lock version. The rotor works with both road and mountain brake systems, so you can standardize on one rotor across multiple bikes if you're running 6-bolt hubs on everything.... Read More
