Description
The Force Wide crankset for 1x use maximizes the ruthless simplicity of the SRAM 1x drivetrain with a small 10T cog cassette. With a 1x12 set-up riders get more range with tight cog transitions, especially with the XPLR 10-44T gravel optimized cassette. Paired with a 40T Direct Mount chainring that is light, stiff and strong and carries X-Sync tooth profiling wide that ensures great chain drive and retention, a Force AXS Rear Derailleur and XPLR cassette drivetrain is efficient and effective for all terrain. Need a much wider range for extreme adventures or pure high cadence usage? Run an Eagle AXS RD with a 10-52T Eagle cassette and spin as you wish.
A wider frame design requires components that match so that the drivetrain is centered on the cassette and allows for proper tire clearance while providing ideal gearing for venturing off-road. For 2023, SRAM released the updated Force AXS road/gravel, D2 series 1x crankset in this Wide variation, featuring a simple, minimized, but sharp pearlescent-type graphic on gloss carbon with dark silver-grey accent. The DUB spindle crank arms feature this graphics change, and the 1x the 40T Direct Mount chainring option has slightly different shape and finish than the D1 generation version.
The Wide 1x crankset achieves the proper 47.5mm chainline for bikes with up to 700x45c or 27.5x2.1” tire widths (135mm, 142mm, or Boost 148mm spacing )and is only available with a 40T Direct Mount chainring. A longer DUB crank spindle accommodates both Road and MTB width frame bottom bracket standards for unmatched cross-compatibility across manufacturers. The DUB 28.99mm crank arm spindle is the most universal design made, offering simplicity. Just choose the Wide Road bottom bracket required for your road bike, install- and go. The system features a left arm, with the DUB spindle attached and a bearing pre-load adjustment device. The Direct Mount ring is bolted to the driveside crank arm, and once installed, the driveside unit is attached to the DUB spindle via an exterior, center bolt that pulls the assembly together.
