With the Force AXS D2-series release, SRAM is only offering one road rear derailleur cage length. It is durable enough to use for gravel, but the 36T max large cassette cog limit may only appeal to hardcore gravel racers. See the Force XLPR model for 10-44T cassette compatibility. The single cage length works with any cassette size from 10-28T to 10-36T, in 1x or 2x configurations. Shifts are fast and precise, and the Orbit fluid damper keeps the chain in control, whether the obstacle you’re hitting is a pothole or a root. For the D2 release SRAM sought a more universal, yet simple and striking esthetic effect- the graphics pop just the right amount, with that clean look that can match any SRAM AXS component.

There is plenty of SRAM design and engineering technology here in the Force AXS 12-Speed Rear Derailleur D2. From the proven and highly effective X-Sync pulley wheels through the Orbit chain management system, the mechanicals deliver durability and performance at the Force price sweet spot. The derailleur responds to the wireless electronic shifting instantaneously, following the intuitive eTap shift logic actions (right lever makes it harder, left lever makes it easier in a 1x drivetrain). The reliable AXS communication allows you use SRAM's app for easy installation and set-up, along with personalization and system management. A removable AXS battery (sold separately) gives you great riding time, and can easily be charged with it's dock and USB cable.
