SRAM make it easy and convenient for you to upgrade your GX1 Eagle drivetrain to the wireless AXS shifting system. This Upgrade Kit contains the GX Eagle AXS Rear Derailleur, GX Eagle Controller (shifter), eTap Battery and charging dock, as well as the rear derailleur installation tool. That is all you need. As soon as ten minutes after removing the mechanical GX shifter and rear derailleur you'll be riding your new wireless AXS set-up. it is that simple, and while you will be able to access and manage the component information from the AXS app via Bluetooth on you phone at your convenience, getting started doesn't requirement.

SRAM's AXS system is well proven at this point, and has been extremely reliable. The Controller has a coin cell battery that lasts much longer than you'd think, and the eTap battery for the rear derailleur is the same as every other eTap battery. Using the charging dock via USB cable to recharge is easy, and we recommend picking up an extra battery at some point for simplicity and readiness. Although the GX Rear Derailleur, carrying the small, lightweight spare battery on the trail is great insurance.
