Description
Chainring teeth wear down with every shift, every pedal stroke, every wet ride where grit works its way into the drivetrain. The inner ring takes particular abuse because that's where you're grinding up climbs, putting sustained torque through fewer teeth. SRAM's Red 22 X-Glide inner chainring gives you a direct replacement when your shifting starts to hesitate or skip under load.
The X-Glide tooth profile is where SRAM focused their engineering attention. Each tooth is machined with specific ramps and shaping that guide the chain during shifts, reducing the gap between "shift initiated" and "shift completed." This matters most when you're shifting under power—attacking out of a corner or responding to a surge in the group. The 7075 aluminum construction keeps weight competitive with the original ring while maintaining the stiffness needed to resist flex when you're standing on the pedals.
This ring uses SRAM's hidden bolt pattern, which means the bolt circle sits behind the chainring face rather than through visible holes. It's a cleaner look, but more importantly for replacement purposes, it means you need the corresponding SRAM crankset with the hidden bolt interface. You can't swap this onto a traditional five-bolt crank arm.... Read More
