These Stan's ZTR Valor Pro wheels come set up as 15mm frt/12x142mm rear, but includes hub end caps and skewers, so they can easily be adapted to non-thru axle frame and forks.

In designing the ZTR Valor Pro wheelset, Stan's NoTubes sought to push boundaries, improve upon existing technology, and deliver a light, fast, comfortable, tubeless wheel system that XC racers would love. Well, at 1326 grams for the set, the Valor Pro 29 is certainly light. NoTubes engineered new technologies to meet the rest of the goals. The result? An exceptionally light, strong, compliant, and fast carbon rim wheelset that will excel in XC race environments, and be an ideal clincher tubeless option for domestic cyclocross.

The ZTR Valor rims have been developed with what NoTubes is calling RiACT rim design. The acronym stands for Radial Impact Absorbing Technology. Despite the carbon rims being 30% stiffer laterally than their aluminum counterparts, RiACT employs a proprietary lay-up process that absorbs radial vibrations and impacts, allowing the rim to compress up to 7mm. Not only does this engineering protect the rim's integrity, when countered by the lateral stiffness, the rim provides more forward momentum, effectively reducing energy loss. Many companies have focused on rim and rider preservation, but here we have a design doesn't compromise performance to make it happen. The design also takes into account the challenges of creating a wider rim without losing strength. NoTubes uses it's WideRight design to ensure the rim can handle the additional loads at such a light weight. Incorporating the short Bead Socket Technology that powers the low pressure tire tubeless system, the engineers have built a truly integrated rim structure. The rim strength and durability are impressive, and the ride quality and tubeless performance are superb.

As part of the complete design process, a new hub system was developed. Cues from pro riders informed the design of the Neo Ultimate, and the 100% precision CNC machined hubshells were just the start. Bearings went oversize for maximum durability and the wide stance, swaged axle push the bearings out further than before, for a huge increase in system strength and stiffness. In the rear, a 6-pawl, 5 degree, 72-point engagement system is silky smooth and lightning quick, and the freehub bearings have been moved out as far as possible. Laser-etched SealLock end caps lock into place and roll smoother predecessors, while the hub flanges are now angled to improve spoke alignment and ease more consistent spoke tension. Construction and performance are both huge upgrades over previous NoTubes hub designs, yet the Neo Ultimate's are incredibly light.

Just in case you weren't blown away just yet, Sapim's Custom Laser 1.8/1.5/1.8 steel spokes and Secure Lock Nipples round out the ZTR Valor Pro. NoTubes includes spare spokes and a spoke tension readout with each pair of wheels, which is a huge benefit when you have to service the wheels, or take them into an untested local shop. Of course you also get the usual tape and valves, and depending on the version purchased, additional endcaps and QR's as necessary. The 6-bolt disc mounts are perfectly faced and ready for your favorite rotors. This a race oriented wheelset that you can push to the limits, so long as you are under 230lbs, and you carefully adhere to the tire pressure recommendations. You are looking at a 38 psi max on these carbon hoops, with additional ratings by tire width.
