SwissStop's Catalyst Pro Disc Rotors were developed for premium grade disc brake use across all disciplines with the proper size for each. The stainless steel ring rotors offered exceptional braking power, ventilation, and control, but many road racers hoped for a lighter version, so SwissStop developed the Catalyst Race with a thinner 1.8mm braking ring, which also features a reduced mounting reach. The aluminum spider was designed and made larger, reducing overall weight, with greater stiffness and aerodynamics from a newly sculpted spider design. The outer edge of the braking ring has UCI-legal rounded edges for road race compatibility.

Given that SwissStop, like all other rotor manufacturers, developed the Catalyst Race for optimal use with their own EXOTherm2 and Disc RS series pads, those pads are available for Shimano, Campagnolo, and SRAM disc brake calipers. You may use the rotors with other pads, but you could see a reduction in performance.
