The Thule DoubleTrack Pro 2 Bike receiver platform-style bike rack is one of the lightest and most versatile racks on the market. Designed for use with most bike types and sizes, as well as being compatible with both 1¼" and 2" receiver hitch sizes, the DoubleTrack Pro is perfect for couples with two vehicles (and different hitch sizes), or someone who only needs to carry two bikes max, and had frequently has to remove the rack from the car and store it. The compact physical size and manageable weight make that not only possible, but reasonably easy.

Of course because it is a Thule product, the design, construction, and features are all top notch and easy to use. With a minimal single beam platform and the accompanying pivoting upright mast, the simplicity shines through. As you'd expect, when folded flat, the unit can then be folded to 90 degrees inward to the vehicle when not in use via the HitchSwitch lever. The only feature it lacks is the ability to tilt away and down from the vehicle, but the weight and price are the important trade-offs here. Thule includes their threaded, locking SnugTite receiver lock which not only secure the rack to the vehicle but also eliminated wobble when properly installed. This STL-2 locking device does feature Thule's One Key lock core system if you want to pair to existing locks for simplicity.

Using camlocking levers, you can easily adjust the wheel holders and bar clamps for perfect bike set-up. The DoubleTrack Pro holds a variety of bike sizes including road, mountain and fat tire models with weights up to 35lbs each using these sliding wheel trays and highly adjustable wheel straps. The pivoting upright mast securely holds the bike using the frame-friendly locking clamps that also come with keyed-alike One Key cores. All three lock cores that come with this rack will be keyed alike. You receive a dummy installation key and two coded keys for actually locking the matching coded cores.

The clamps and wheel holders are designed to securely hold the bike, yet also prevent damage via cushioning materials. When the STL-2 is firmly installed, and the bike properly secure to the Double Track Pro, the whole unit is very stable, and your bikes will be in safe "hands", over short or long distances. Overall, the DoubleTrack Pro is a well thought-out 2 bike receiver rack. If you don't need add-on capability, and like the lighter weight and simple use, the Thule 9054 DoubleTrack Pro is the way to go.
