Description

Time's ATAC mountain bike pedal system has long been the only real competitor to Shimano's SPD system, and there are few riders who can move back and forth between the two. Still, many Enduro and serious trail riders found themselves having to opt for Shimano's mid-platform, clip-in pedal designs. With the release of the Speciale 12 Pedal, Time has bridged the gap from their ATAC XC pedals and their bulk DH platforms, maintaining the best qualities of ATAC, and offering a grippy platform that allows the rider to work the pedal quite a bit more- clipped in or not.
For Time the Special 12 carries ultimate balance between aesthetics, practicality and performance. Developed by their engineers for the demands of Enduro and Trail riding, the Speciale pedal is made with a 6106-T6 aluminum body, which is 20% more durable than other grades of aluminum but at a relatively light weight. A wide platform, adjustable height pins for optimal grip and a new micro-adjustable ATAC spring tension adjustment system all serve to meet the demands of the most advanced riders. The proven ATAC engagement spring-style design (TIME patent) allows easy clip-in and positive, predictable release as well as an open structure that self-cleans even in the most difficult mud conditions. Like all of Time pedals, the Speciale 12 is 100% made in France at their factory in Nevers, to Time's high material and production standards.
