The TRP HY-RD road/CX Disc brake calipers (pronounced "high road") including rotor are just the ticket for those wanting to keep their cable actuated levers but want the power, lighter touch and modulation of hydraulics. The HY/RD is an open hydraulic system that is fully compatible with all existing cable actuated levers. We have been quite impressed with the performance of these brakes over straight cable actuated systems. Using compressionless housing will make performance even better.

With the HY-RD, you get true 'plug-and-play' compatibility with all existing cable actuated systems. The hydraulic reservoir provides automatic pad wear adjustment. TRP's own ultra-grippy semi-metallic pad that is Shimano M525/M515 compatible allowing for further customization so you can use a full metallic pad for better wear in wet and muddy conditions. Select 140mm or 160mm rotor size - it is suggested to use the 160mm on the front with most riders going with the 140mm on the rear.
