Wheels Manufacturing works hard to keep up with new standards and designs, and these T47a (asymmetrical) threaded BB cups are being offered for T47a frames and Shimano compatible 24mm spindle diameter compatible cranks. The cups have internal bearings, but external notches, and can be used in BB shells with widths from 77.5 - 79mm. These achined aluminum cups thread together directly into a Cervelo, Factor or Felt T47a BB shell. The bearings are easily serviced or replaced. This complete unit includes the internal sleeve to fit between cups for added protection from dirt and grime, and has the benefit of keeping your internal wires and hoses from rubbing on the crank spindle.

T47a BB cups are similar to standard BSA threaded cups in that the drive side cup is left-hand thread and the non-drive side cup is right-hand thread. The tool size required is a 48.5mm x 16-notch cup tool, with a flush surface. Always use a quality grease when installing in steel or aluminum threaded BB shells. For Excel Sports and Cervelo customers, as of early 2023 the Soloist and R5CX models require at T47a bottom bracket.
