Description

Zipp has revamped the Tangente tire line-up. Starting with the huge success of the original Tangente, Zipp's focus has been on competition tires. With the Course model, Zipp has balanced competition with durability, flat protection, and value. Though the new Tangente Course is a clincher tire and has been built with those key features in mind, it is still a competition worthy tire. Protection, after all, can be crucial in triathlon where a flat can ruin your experience. But, as a competitor, you still want a fast rolling, low resistance tire that can meet your performance standards. The Tangente Course was designed for you as Zipp has still incorporated key technologies and aerodynamic research into the design.

The key to the puncture protection of the Tangente Course is a nylon belt sits beneath the outer layer of rubber that meets the road, and the inner rubber that carries the flexible Kevlar bead that keeps the tire on the rim. The business rubber compound has been built into a 120 TPI casing that keeps the tire supple and delivers excellent grip. This new compound demonstrates low rolling resistance, and has been maximized for best control and feel in dry conditions. The shape, profile, and tread pattern of the tire itself has been optimized for aerodynamics based on Zipp’s extensive wheel development and tire testing. As the rider, you are getting an incredible compilation of technology and engineering in the Tangente Course. Ride it hard, and count down those long miles with extra assurance. Please notice that this tire was optimized for dry conditions, but like any tire once you get the feel for it, getting caught out in the rain won’t slow you down much. Zipp recommends dropping tire pressure 5psi on wet pavement!
