Description

For over a decade, Hammer Gel has been the benchmark of concentrated carbohydrate energy, primarily because of what it doesn't contain. Hammer Gel has no added refined, simple sugars and artificial colors or sweeteners. Hammer Gel uses long-chain complex carbohydrates for smooth, consistent energy release. There's only a trace of sugar, so Hammer Gel doesn't set off wild insulin spikes causing "sugar high" and "sugar crash." Hammer Gel is an easily digested, concentrated source of complex carbohydrates with four amino acids added to enhance performance and prolong energy levels during intense training and competition. The result is a great tasting concentrated fuel source that goes down and digests easier than any other energy gel.

I have to vouch for power bar gels, they are much improved over years' past indeed. The taste is better, and is less-gooey going down, in fact they're easier going down then many of the other choices out there -- I also use them. And yes, this gel does provide for energy sustainability on longer rides -- just take with water, and also use a powder mix energy drink as well.

I used to use GU all the time (and still do sometimes), but actually now I find powerbar gels to go down even easier, and yes, they do the same thing when it comes to fueling you up and keeping you going on long rides.

Taken in advance of a ride definitely ensures a more well balanced and sustained energy level. Take with water it's easy on the belly and goes down easy. Compared to other more expensive gels, this gel does the same thing, but for less!
