Description

KMC plays a huge role in the world of bicycle chains, often found as OEM chains on bikes from major manufacturers, as replacement or upgrades for stock chains, or simple because many riders believe in them. In fact, KMC only makes chains, so you know there is some serious, specific knowledge and experience behind the engineering. The X11.93 11-Speed Chain is designed to work properly with Shimano, SRAM and FSA drivetrains. It runs smoothly and quietly, and is truly functional, not some B-level performance. One major reason Shimano drivetrain users have opted for KMC chains over the years is the the KMC Quick Link, a much easier, and safer for non-techy types, than driving the pin in a Shimano chain. Many riders also choose to carry a spare link in case of a road emergency as well.

KMC's X-Bridge technology helps to assist shift loads when the chain is at an angle. The outer links are nickel-plated for durability and corrosion resistance, while the rollers and bushings are lubricated at construction. The 118 links give you plenty of chain to work with, and KMC rates the X11.93 11-Speed Chain for road and mountain drivetrain use.

The Shimano Ultegra 11 speed chain that came stock with my new bike was very noisy. I recently installed the x11.93 and it works better than the Shimano chain. Smoother shifting and no more noise. I had a difficult time installing the Missing Link connector. In the past with my 10 speed KMC chains, I would just line up the Missing Link and gently run it over my big chain ring and it would snap into place. No such luck with the 11 speed. Each time the chain would come apart and fall off the big ring and rear derailleur and I would have to start all over again. Finnally (after about ten times), I tried running it over the small chain ring and that worked. Perhaps it had something to do about the angle. Next time I might try a different connector such as a Sram.
