Description

The Keo Grip cleat feature a rubber tread on the front and rear of the cleat to provide better safety and traction when walking. They fit slightly snugger than the standard non-grip Keo cleats which produces a secure pedal/cleat interface and reduce noise. Albeit a little more expensive than the non-Grip Keo cleat, these are the preferred cleat of choice amongst many Look Keo users.

The cleats are molded from durable nylon and feature and integrated and textured rubber tabs on the bottom ends of the cleat. The cleats are color coded with black being 0 degrees/fixed, grey 4.5 degrees of float and red with 9 degrees of float. Sold in pairs with all mounting hardware and directions.

I've used Look Keo cleats for the past 2 years but I think that grip cleats is a misnomer. I go through 3 per year and the grips wear down a ton in the first couple of months. I have been too lazy to try a different model, but I might go back to the non-grip ones because they appear to be better quality and I don't think the grips are actually capable of gripping (definitely not worth $15 more).

They work fine- and yes, they creak but just use soap (like bath soap) on the edges of the cleats to get rid of the creaks. Learned from a fellow rider- it worked so I did not argue and have done it since.

Have used both the black and the grey without any problems. They have simply done what they are supposed to do.

I put about 3k miles on these before the rubber gripstop pieces began to peel off. Clean the pedal-cleat contact surfaces, and the squeak goes away. If you’re riding in very wet conditions, there’s not much you can do about the squeak (which is probably a lesser concern).

I finally replaced my cleats after 4.5k miles, most of which were sloppy East Coast winter miles. The cleats were worn down--but completely functional. Much more durable and cost-effective than my old Speedplays.

Got them with my carbon blades. As the other reviewers mentioned the creak, a lot. Another crappy product that was not well tested before releasing!

Had a creak at the 3 & 9 o’clock position, used the KEO system just this year alone. This started after riding through the rain, tried new chain, chainring, bottom bracket, chainring bolts tightened...still creaked. Decided to change out with old Speedplays, creaks stopped. Put KEOs back on, used T9 teflon lube spray on the springs...creaking stopped. It wasn’t the cleats, it was the springs. Why? Because it creaked w/out lube, but didn’t after. Then after 30 miles, the creaking started again...used Phil Wood grease this time...will have to wait to see how that affects the creaking springs. Pedals are Ti/Carbon.

These cleats are terrible, they creak worse from day one than the cleats that I was replacing after four months of heavy use. I have had them on for 4 rides so far, and I plan to remove them immediately and replace them with a new set of the bimaterial cleats (or even my old used set). The anti-slip material is nice, but most of it was gone by the end of the first day. I wouldn’t recommend these cleats.
